On May 2, San Jos\u00e9 City College’s METAS Center<\/a> marked its 15th anniversary with a vibrant quincea\u00f1era celebration, honoring its commitment to Latinx student success. The event featured performances by Mariachi Eterno de UCSC and Luz de Aztl\u00e1n baile folkl\u00f3rico, highlighting the community’s rich cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Jos\u00e9 Evergreen Community College District Chancellor Dr. Beatriz Chaidez and Acting SJCC President Dr. David Wain Coon provided remarks lauding the impact METAS has had on student success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established through a U.S. Department of Education Title V grant, the METAS Center serves as a Latinx\/e Resource Center at San Jos\u00e9 City College, providing a welcoming environment and holistic support to students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quincea\u00f1era celebration commemorated the center’s 15 years of service and underscored its role in empowering students and promoting cultural pride. The METAS Center continues to be a cornerstone for community engagement and student achievement at SJCC.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
