These are just some of the advanced technologies that are being used to improve productivity, safety, and green building practices on job sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Historically, construction work was something that you could learn as you go (especially if you\u2019ve got a knack for it and you\u2019re somewhat self-taught). But that\u2019s changing too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Being able to learn as you go is still super important. This is true for just about any profession. But the construction industry is changing rapidly<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the past, construction workers could more easily get away with learning on-the-job. But as technology advances, it has become more difficult. The fact is, you might be able to find some entry level construction jobs with no experience and no training, but you\u2019ll gain a major<\/em> advantage if you study your trade beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And if you can find affordable education in construction, what\u2019s holding you back? But the list goes on and on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And if you enjoy the hands-on nature of construction but you\u2019re interested in other elements of the construction process, you should definitely think about an AS degree so you can pursue things like construction engineering or construction management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most construction manager jobs require a bachelor\u2019s degree, but it would be a great investment. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, a construction manager salary<\/a> is nearly three times that of a construction laborer<\/a>. The Bureau also reports that both professions are growing at a faster than average rate, so both will be in demand. A bachelor\u2019s degree in construction management would also be a great option if you\u2019d like to start your own construction business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you choose a well-established educational institution, you\u2019re likely to benefit greatly from your peers and instructors. Never underestimate the power of networking.
