What Is the Free Tuition Program?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Most of us likely find it hard to believe when something is 100% free. We often wonder \u2014 what\u2019s the catch? In this case, there isn\u2019t one. Just remember, it\u2019s a one-time deal that may not be coming back again soon, and in order to receive it, you need to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Is This Program Possible?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

HEERF funding and the free tuition program is a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES)<\/a> Act. The CARES Act has provided $2.2 trillion in financial assistance to Americans overall, and $14 billion to higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a recent press release<\/a>, Dr. Rowena Tomaneng, SJCC\u2019s President said, \u201cAs an educator in the California Community College system for more than 26 years, offering free college to our students is a rare and extraordinary opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Is Eligible for Free Tuition?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
