{"id":8640,"date":"2023-06-16T19:26:22","date_gmt":"2023-06-17T02:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/the-roar.net\/?p=8640"},"modified":"2023-06-17T10:12:26","modified_gmt":"2023-06-17T17:12:26","slug":"sjcc-metas-summer-bridge-helps-new-jaguars-get-a-jump-on-college-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/the-roar.net\/?p=8640","title":{"rendered":"SJCC METAS Summer Bridge Helps New Jaguars Get a Jump on College Life"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">San Jos\u00e9 City College welcomes 100 high school transfer students who will transition to college thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sjcc.edu\/students\/academic-programs\/metas\/default.aspx\">METAS <\/a>Summer Bridge program, which provides complete support and academic services.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;The students will finish foundational courses during the summer while learning to navigate college life. \u201cWhen students finish the six-week program, they will clearly understand the work and expectations required to complete their college journey successfully,\u201d said Dr. Enrique Velasco, <a href=\"https:\/\/sjcc.edu\/\">SJCC <\/a>METAS Director.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">METAS Summer Bridge, which begins on June 20, aims to help new Jaguars find their<a href=\"https:\/\/sjcc.edu\/spot.aspx\"> SPOT<\/a> or Student Pathway to Opportunity and Transfer.
