SJCC had a busy week with events celebrating Dia de los Muertos and Halloween.
The Día de los Muertos celebration on October 30, featured skull face painting offered by the Cosmetology department for anyone excited to get into the spirit of the festivities. The campus community participated in a traditional procession through the campus, including the Art Gallery where altars honored loved ones who have passed on.
The celebration also marked the debut of the newly-formed campus band The Jag-Tones comprised of students and faculty. The Jag-Tones performed traditional music in the Castellano Green. Thanks to our new neighbor Chacho’s Restaurant (on Bascom Ave.) for donating the delicious agua fresca.
