SJCC Grad Presses for Change in UC System

We’re proud to see recent SJCC graduate (Class of 2017), MacArthur (Mac) Hoang making his voice heard at UC Berkeley and the UC System. Mac spoke to the UC Board of Regents Public Engagement and Development Committee to advocate for funding for programs serving foster youth and formerly incarcerated students.

His testimony impressed many, including Regent Eloy Ortiz Oakley, the Chancellor of the California Community College System. At the meeting, the committee voted to fund the programs for all UC campuses. See his testimony below.
