San José City fell 28–14 to College of the Sequoias at Jaguar Stadium. The Giants pulled away in the second half behind QB Payton Faker’s 305 yards and 3 TDs plus a 64-yard run by Mookie Gosby. Cedeno Chavez tossed a TD to Cody Ahola; Kai Wilson added another.

Rayos Magos exhibit opens at San José City College Art Gallery

San José City College presents Recuerdos y Raíces (Memories and Roots), an exhibition by mixed-media artist Rayos Magos, opening Aug. 23 at the Carmen Castellano Fine Arts Center. The show runs through Sept. 26 with a closing reception and artist talk Sept. 11. Admission is free.

After a shut-out win (5-0) over Reedley College, the Jaguars will move on to the second round of the CCCAA Northern California Regional Playoffs. The Lady Jags had to wait a day to clinch the first round after rain delayed play on Saturday.
