San Jose City College held its 103rd annual commencement Thursday, with more than 450 students crossing the stage. The Class of 2026 includes 621 students earning 1,051 associate degrees and 643 students earning 753 certificates, ranging in age from 13 to 78. San José City College honored retiring softball coach Debbie Huntze-Rooney on April 25 with a campus celebration attended by dozens of former players, many flying in from out of state. After 34 seasons, 949 career wins, and 10 Coast Conference championships, Huntze-Rooney leaves as one of California’s winningest active female softball coaches.

San José City College’s Spring ROAR Days welcomed more than 300 incoming students April 15, 16 and 18 — a 53% increase over last year. Nine campus departments participated in a resource fair, the Robert N. Chang Center offered extended hours including Saturday service, and counselors and staff volunteers were on hand throughout.
