San José City College Athletics introduced digital ticketing at its Oct. 17 home football game against City College of San Francisco at Jaguar Stadium.
The game was the first Jaguar event under the department’s new partnership with HomeTown Ticketing, a digital ticketing platform used by schools, districts and conferences across the country.
Fans can now buy tickets online in advance or on their phones at the gate. Tickets and passes can be saved to a mobile wallet or pulled up in the HomeTown Fan App, and staff scan them from fans’ phone screens at the entrance.
“Partnering with HomeTown Ticketing is a big step toward a better game-day experience for our fans,” said Tommy Abdenour, director of athletics at San José City College. “We want coming to an SJCC game to be as easy and enjoyable as possible for our campus and the local community.”
The system covers every campus venue and the full Jaguar sports calendar. That includes regular-season conference games and multiday invitationals such as the Tip-Off Tournament and the Coach Carr Classic. Fans can buy single-game tickets or tournament passes from a computer or phone.
Abdenour said the platform also gives the athletics department better tools to run events.
