Magos, a native of San José, is a mixed-media artist whose work encompasses collage, painting, textiles, and sculpture. His art is rooted in counseling psychology and expressive arts therapy, often drawing on themes of memory, spirituality, and social justice.

“Rayos Magos’s work is both personal and universal, weaving together cultural memory with contemporary identity,” said Michelle Gregor, an SJCC art professor who helped bring the exhibition to campus.

Magos is also a cultural ambassador for the City of San José and has served as an artist-in-residence at institutions such as the Montalvo Arts Center.

The gallery is encouraging students and faculty across disciplines to attend the exhibition. Organizers stated that the show will appeal to individuals interested in art, history, engineering, psychology, and other related fields.

The SJCC Art Gallery is located in Building A on campus. Hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
